Party Words is a pass-and-play word-guessing game for one phone and 2–4 teams. No app, no account — open the page and start.
Enter a team name for each team (2–4). Choose how long each turn lasts (30/60/90/120 seconds), how many rounds each team plays, and how many skips a turn allows. Pick the built-in word deck or paste your own words (one per line, or comma-separated — up to 200 words).
1. Hand the phone to the describer of the current team. The word stays hidden until you press start,
and a short 3-2-1 countdown runs first.
2. The describer sees a big word and may say anything to make the team guess it — except the word itself
or a translation of it (house rule: decide penalties together).
3. Tap Got it ✓ when the team says the word (+1 point) or Skip to pass a hard word
(limited per turn; a skipped word scores nothing).
4. When time runs out, review the round: green ticks are correct words, arrows are skipped words.
Made a mistake? Use Undo — it works during the turn and right after the host ends a turn.
5. The next team takes a turn. After every team has played all rounds, the highest total wins.
A tie is shown as a shared win.
Teams Red and Blue, 60-second turns, 3 rounds each. Red's describer draws "hot air balloon", says "you ride it at dawn, it floats, the basket carries you" — the team shouts "hot air balloon!" and gets a point. Next word, "volcano", is impossible — Skip. Time runs out: Red ends the turn with 1 point. Blue then plays their turn. After round 3, Red has 5 points and Blue has 5 — the game shows a shared win.
The built-in deck has 200+ reviewed English words in six categories. Custom lists are capped at 200 words / 20 KB and never leave your phone. If the deck runs out mid-turn, you can reshuffle it (and keep playing with the same words) or end the turn. This is not the TV show Charades and is not affiliated with any television format.
